The 24th Annual Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) Junior National 9-Ball Championships is currently underway at Romine’s High Pockets in Greenfield, Wisconsin. Junior billiard athletes, ages 8 ““ 18 years old, traveled from 28 states to participate in this prestigious event.

There were 72 players at this past weekend’s Lone Star 9-Ball Event held July 7th-8th, 2012 at Bogies Billiards & Sports Bar in Houston, with Open and Amateur division entries totaling 106.

The team took first place in the 3rd annual Vegas Masters 9-Ball State Championship & National Qualifier tournament held June 23 & 24 at Mickey’s Cues & Brews. They went undefeated with an outstanding finish, winning the match against team “œWhatever,” 3 to 0 in the finals.

With 17 Filipinos in the field of 128 players, including the legendary Efren Reyes, and Francisco Bustamante, the venue is never short of large and vocal crowds of Filipino overseas workers and this certainly spices up the already pressure filled atmosphere. They came out in force today as the winners of each group faced off for a quick chance out of the danger zone of the group stage and into the final 64, including Reyes who played in the first session.
