Cha looked slightly nervous against Jeanette Lee, but was able to come away with the win. The last time the two faced off Lee won 9-8. This marked the first time Cha had beaten her, and just days earlier Cha defeated Allison Fisher for the first time in the BCAPL Grand Masters.

“I felt pressure playing her, because I really want to play Shane again”, explained Cha.

Well now she will get her chance. The Van Boening/Cha re-match will be at 8:30pm tonight.

Allison Fisher looks to have the easiest route to the final 32 of the women as she faces relatively unknown Dan Heidrich of NY. Heidrich’s claim to fame thus far has been his 7-0 comeback behind win against World 14.1 Champion Niels Feijen. Fisher is picked to be the match favorite.

Vivian Villarreal will have to get over Matt Tetrault in order to face Rodney Morris to qualify. Jasmin Ouschan took care of Dan Louie 10-6 but will have to face Kenichi Uchigaki of Japan next. Ouschan lost to a Japanese player earlier in the event, and if she wins will have to face Spain’s carlos Cabello who earlier defeated Ralf Souquet. Kelly Fisher will have to hurdle Ramil Gallego of the Philippines and then face top USA pro Charlie Williams to qualify. The rest of the women field have been eliminated.

If a women’s pro makes it through, it will mark the first time in the 9 year history of the event a woman would have finished in the prize money and in the top quarter of the field.

JBETpoker.net is offering bonus money to the top woman’s finisher of $1000 and $500 for the second highest in addition to the regular prize money.
